Singer/songwriter Ethan Parker is back with the official music video for his latest single, “Roll,” out now via forever97. A melodic love song that melds Parker’s homegrown influences of folk and blues, the single has amassed over one million streams on Spotify alone. Shot entirely on film, the “Roll” music video takes its viewers on a hazy ride through the desert alongside Parker.
About the song, Ethan comments:
“It was really neat to shoot this video on film. Every shot mattered and since you can’t replay the footage until after it’s developed it was so cool to capture each moment and hope for the best.
The video means a lot to me because of the meaning. In a world where love is so quick and temporary we tried to portray a couple that fought through their challenges and chose to love and grew so much closer. We gotta love. Especially with all that’s going on in our world today. We can’t give up on the people around us when times get tough. We’ve gotta love.” – Ethan Parker
As a songwriter, Ethan Parker’s most loved experience in music is that feeling of the fall. The thought of letting go, that fullness of the heart, and the sweet surrender of the soul in the midst of the music. Raised in Memphis, Ethan’s creative and musical interests stem from his dad being a preacher and his mom his piano teacher, and all you can imagine in-between. Forming the Ethan Parker Band in 2012 while attending school in Florida, the group had four albums to their credit, with their most recent being the split release From The Mountains To The Sea. Inspired by traveling through the North Carolina mountains to the sandy beaches of Palm Beach, the first half of the album From The Mountains was released in March 2014 with its accompaniment To The Sea debuting in March 2015.
Now continuing to grow his fanbase through his solo career, Parker saw his latest release “Roll” debut earlier this spring. Parker also serves as President of the non-profit Project Primavera, which was founded in 2003. Project Primavera partners with top organizations and professional musicians to give orphans and at-risk youth around the world music lessons, concerts and workshops to better enhance their creative and artistic skills.
