Million Miles Releases “Can’t Get Around A Broken Heart”

Today Million Miles (aka French soul-singer Sophie Baudry) released the music video for her new single “Can’t Get Around A Broken Heart.” The video was directed by Sequoia Ziff. “Million Miles’ gentle, easy vibes and the video’s vibrant quality offer a light-handed guide around the tough spot at the song’s core.” Watch here

Million Miles will release her debut EP, Berry Hill on November 3rd. The EP was produced by Robin Eaton and Paul Ebersold and recorded in Nashville, TN. “I wrote ‘Can’t Get Around a Broken Heart’ with Paul Ebersold, who I’d been working with a lot. It was actually the first track I recorded, with Dan Thompson, all live, one take and straight to tape,” said Baudry. “This track really cemented the sound and ignited the beginning of Million Miles.”

Sophie Baudry was raised in Paris and lives in London but was trained at Boston’s famed Berklee College of Music. After returning to London, Baudry kept feeling the pull towards American Soul music- specifically the evocative voices of Ray Charles and Bill Withers. Baudry has a similar signature voice, one that’s amiable and full of melancholy all at once. So she set off for the U.S. to look for inspiration and to write and record in Nashville, TN. After a chance meeting, she headed in to the studio with songwriter/ producers Robin Eaton and Paul Ebersold.

In addition to “Can’t Get Around A Broken Heart,” Million Miles has also released “Ice Cream & Cigarettes,” which shot to the top of the Spotify Viral Chart.
