Amanda Palmer releases new song for Puerto Rico relief

Amanda Palmer has unveiled a new song recorded earlier this week to support immediate relief efforts following the devastation wreaked by Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico.

Small Hands, Small Heart” is available now for $1 or more via Palmer’s official Bandcamp.

All digital proceeds earned from “Small Hands, Small Heart” over the next month will benefit the Hurricane Maria Community Recovery Fund. One hundred percent of all funds raised will be used to support immediate relief, recovery, and equitable rebuilding for the communities in Puerto Rico hit hardest by the storm.

“Given the horror in the news, and given that everybody keeps asking where the artistic revolution is, I don’t feel like I want to mince words anymore, or wait 18 months to put out a ‘politically charged’ album,” says Palmer. “Fuck that: I’m trying to respond in realtime, making songs about now for the people now, and using my patrons comments and personal despairs as song-fodder. This is also the first time I’ve ever used the word ‘dick’ in a song, and I’m pretty proud of that. The fake news media is always free to ask me anything about this insane and beautiful process: I’m just a call away on my fake artist telephone.”
