I’ve been great, thanks. I’ve been in the studio a lot creating.
Can you talk to us more about your single “Blackest Darkness (Nothing At All)”?
It’s a dark pop ballad about the aftermath of a relationship gone bad. It’s a breakup song.
Did any event in particular inspire you to write this song?
When I wrote it, at the time, there were a lot of breakup songs on the radio that focused more on the hate. I know there’s a fine line between love and hate but I wanted to write a song that focused more on the love aspect of it. This song is more about love and acceptance.
Any plans to release a video for the single?
Yes, there’s a video coming out. I’ve been in movies but it was really new and exciting to shoot a video for my own music.
How was the recording and writing process?
I’m always happy and excited to go to the studio. It’s great to hear the ideas that I’ve been creating come to life. The writing is my favorite part of the process. This song is the first one that I wrote and I totally fell in love with songwriting, and that led me to write a lot of songs.
Does France still play a role in your writing?
France is a part of me and my family is still there, but since I was a kid I’ve always loved American pop and my favorite songwriter is Max Martin who is Swedish.
Does Acting influence your music and the other way around?
Yes I want to create music that has a cinematic feel to it. Blackest Darkness definitely has a cinematic feel to it. When I record vocals, the most important thing to me is to convey the emotions. To me acting and music are very connected, that’s why so many singers are actors and vice versa.
Does your new single mean we’re expecting a new album? If so, how’s that coming along?
Yes I’ve been writing and recording a lot, and an album is in the works. It’s based in pop with influences of reggae, dance and latin.
Any tentative release date of title in mind?
I’m going to first release a few singles over the next few months before the album comes out in the Spring. I have a few ideas in mind for a title but I’m still thinking about it.
Any plans to hit the road?
I’ve just started performing at clubs in LA, and just did the Viper Room last week. It was my first stage and I had a blast. I definitely hope to tour to promote the album.
What else is happening next in Linda Bella’s world?
I just had a movie come out and I’m about to start shooting another one.
