HANNAH WICKLUND & THE STEPPIN STONES Announce 2018 Sibling Rivalry Tour

Hot on the heels of a west coast run of shows including a festival appearance at KAABOO Del Mar, HANNAH WICKLUND & THE STEPPIN STONES today (9/25) have announced plans for their 2018 “Sibling Rivalry” tour with The High Divers.

The first leg of the tour includes 17 dates on the east coast taking siblings–WICKLUND and brother Luke Mitchell of THE STEPPIN STONES and The High Divers, respectively–throughout the east coast starting with a two-night stand on January 8 and January 9 in Bluffton, SC at the Roasting Room. From there, the traveling bands will bring their American rock ‘n’ roll to venues in Savannah, GA, Orlando, FL, Nashville, TN, Richmond, VA, New York, NY and Philadelphia, PA, among others, before wrapping in Pittsburgh, PA on February 11 (see all tour dates below). Tickets go on sale Friday, September 29. For more information and to purchase tickets visit: www.hannahwicklund.com

“My brother and I have been on paralleled musical journeys our whole lives, but this tour will be the first time we combine forces and aim to bring Rock ‘N Roll back to the forefront; a cause our family truly believes in,” says WICKLUND. “The positive side of our sibling rivalry is bound to come out on stage as we both push each other to be better than we were the night before. There’s no relaxing on the job when big brother is around!”

HANNAH WICKLUND & THE STEPPIN STONES–an American rock ‘n’ roll band originally from Hilton Head Island, South Carolina and based out of Nashville–are fronted by 20-year-old singer, songwriter and incendiary guitarist HANNAH WICKLUND who formed the band when she was nine. The band recentlyrecorded a new album for release in early 2018 (exact date, title and full details TBA) that was produced by Sadler Vaden, guitarist for Jason Isbell & the 400 Unit.

Onstage, WICKLUND‘s signature curls fly through the air, transporting back to the time of the first female rock star, Janis Joplin. Capturing the old soul of a new generation, WICKLUND‘s singing voice and guitar playing have earned her comparisons to blues/soul musician Susan Tedeschi. The High Divers are a Charleston, SC-based rock band fronted by WICKLUND’s brother Luke Mitchell. They have extensive tours under their belts as well as some opening slots for notable acts such as Nathaniel Rateliff & The Nightsweats, Delta Spirit, Shovels & Rope and Drivin N Cryin.

Riverlust, the group’s 2015 debut record, found its way onto many “best of” lists and was warmly received up and down the East Coast. The band quickly gained a foothold in the Carolina music scene as well, starting to sell out various venues in Charleston, Beaufort and Hilton Head Island. “We’ve been touring non-stop” says Mitchell. “We feel so static whenever we’re home for more than a couple of days.” A band that would have felt equally as comfortable in the 60’s Detroit Motown scene as they would hanging out in Topanga Canyon in the early 70’s, The High Divers are creating songs that nod towards music of the past, while pushing ahead all the time.
