Andrew Bird’s new release “Echolocations: River” due October 6; on tour this fall

Andrew Bird’s newest pieceEcholocations: River is slated for release October 6 via Wegawam Music. Recorded ankle deep in the Los Angeles River under The Hyperion Bridge, the instrumental release is the second in a series of short films and recordings documenting site-specific compositions. Performed by Bird and filmed by Tyler Manson in remote and acoustically unique environments, the first installment, Echolocations: Canyon, was released in 2015. Echolocations: River will be brought to life live onstage this fall, featuring visuals from the film. The debut of these performances takes place October 12 at Los Angeles’s Zebulon, tickets for the performance are on sale this Friday. Bird continues his current world tour with performances in the U.S. See below for a complete list of dates.
