Multi-faceted performer, songwriter and aesthetic visionary SLUKA is set to release the first single/video, “Rise,” from his upcoming ten-song visual album on September 29.

“’Rise’ is my reaction to the Trump phenomena,” Chris Sluka explains. “Not so much him directly, but how his rhetoric resonates with so many. We have seen similar populist movements throughout human history, and every single one of them eventually resulted in dismal failure, if not outright catastrophic anarchic disaster.”

“Rise” blends acoustic guitars with syncopated shuffling drums, cathedral organ, and a groovy bassline. Lyrically, Sluka uses suggestive and evocative words and phrases, along with sometimes lilting and sometimes explosive lead vocals. He also alternates between the positions of the leader, and the led:

“When votes don’t count, when wheels won’t work/

Sadistic noise, a mad sly jerk/

The redneck ways, your flag is dumb/

You can’t be saved, you immigrant scum/

Don’t preach to me, just sing your songs/

and dance that dance, ‘cause you’re god damn wrong”

“I recorded myself out of breath after a long run and added that throughout because, let’s face it, aren’t we all exhausted by this daily barrage?”

“My aim is not to ridicule or alienate Trump supporters, nor to encourage the extreme left wing opposition, but to motivate all of us, the human race, to rise above the voices of enflamed fears, social divisiveness, authoritarian control, and immature, incompetent unrestrained outbursts of insanity. Hail to the Chief of Reality TV.”

Colorful Radiation is SLUKA’s 11th studio album to date, and he has a fan base that spans across continents. He’s a songwriter, producer, performer, and multi-instrumentalist (guitar, piano, drums, bass, violin, trumpet, trombone, french horn, ukelele, and synthesizer). He is also a world-renowned visual artist, whose surreal oil paintings have been displayed in galleries all over the US, Europe and Asia. All art aside, Chris also happens to be an aircraft pilot, who owns and operates a flight school in San Diego, CA, and is chief flight instructor. And he’s as a long-distance runner as well.

Ten-song visual album Colorful Radiation will be available on Amazon on November 3, in a combination of 3D, 4K and Bluray.
