SORAIA Premiere New Song “Wandering Star”

In anticipation of their new album Dead Reckoning, Philadelphia rockers Soraia have debuted a new song via hometown station WXPN The KeyLISTEN HERE to “Wandering Star,” an anthem of loss and destiny imagining the singer as Jeff Buckley’s girlfriend as she experiences his passing. Dead Reckoning will be out on October 13, 2017 via Wicked Cool Records in partnership with The Orchard and is available for pre-order now, CLICK HERE to pre-order.

“This is told from the point of view of the singer being the girlfriend of Jeff Buckley on the side of the river when he drowns,” lead singer ZouZou Mansour shared. “The first chorus is Jeff telling her how they’re on the cusp of great success, and it’s ‘fate.’ But ‘fate’ turns when he drowns, so his words now take on the eerie new meaning of: go on without me and be ok, because this was destined. ‘Now Heaven is happy, but me I still look for you, my wandering star.’ The singer is left to look to and talk to the sky where she looks for her lost lover now.”

Touring relentlessly and channeling their passion into raw, ferocious rock records, Soraia channel the legends of rock ‘n’ roll with unstoppable energy. Their intense, autobiographical songwriting and deeply personal relationships with their fervent fanbase, Soraia – whose name means “bright guiding star” in Arabic – strive to inspire hope and healing in the face of personal struggle. Recent single “Quicksand” debuted as the “Coolest Song In The World” on Little Steven Van Zandt’s worldwide terrestrial radio show Underground Garage and on his SiriusXM channel 21CLICK HERE to watch the video for single “Quicksand,” which captures the band’s signature live energy at shows in New York City and their hometown of Philadelphia and showcases ZouZou’s unforgettable stage presence, which has been deemed “a true mix of Iggy Pop and Joan Jett.”

Steven Van Zandt, host of Little Steven’s Underground Garage on SiriusXM, chose Soraia‘s song “Electrocutioner” as his #1 “Coolest Song of the Year 2016,” and their attitude-laden punk cover of The Kinks’ “(I’m Not) Like Everybody Else” reached #1 on rock radio in South America in 2014. Prior to that, rock n’ roll legends and deejays Bill Kelly, Genya Ravan, Kid Leo, and Michael Des Barres chose “(I’m Not) Like Everybody Else” among their favorite “Top Ten Coolest Songs of 2014”.
