Pell Shares Video for “Patience (NOLA Mix)”

Today, New Orleans rapper and singer Pell unveils his music video for “Patience,” complete with a new “NOLA Mix” brass band version of the track, out now with Red Bull Sound Select. Pell says:

“I would like to dedicate this video to the victims of Hurricane Harvey and the people of Texas. With Katrina, I experienced firsthand how catastrophic Mother Nature can be, and saw the strength and resolve of the people of New Orleans to rebuild together through its devastation. I hope this video can serve as a symbol of positivity: we will support each other and come back stronger. Prayers to those in Texas.”

Inspired by his hometown of New Orleans, Pell reworked the original London On Da Track produced single by adding horns and enlisting a local, all-female cast for his second line. “The women in this video are meant to represent the diversity of beauty, no matter what conventional norms want us to believe,” says Pell. “The song and video showcase a bridge between traditional New Orleans brass and second line customs – with a new hip hop perspective on top.” Director Alan Del Rio Ortiz (St. Vincent, Solange, Fetty Wap), says of shooting in New Orleans, “the music was so vivid it would be impossible not to follow that lead with the video.” Watch here

Pell’s “Patience (NOLA Mix)” and “Late At Night feat. MNEK,” both produced by London On Da Track, are out now with Red Bull Sound Select. The video joins this year’s growing catalog of Jazz Cartier and Mike WiLL Made-It, Montell2099 and 21 Savage, Xavier Omär, Sampa the Great and Tennyson, will all available on Soundcloud & Spotify now.
