“Evelyn” is the prequel in a duology with the previously released song “Tempest” (reacquaint yourself with the video for “Tempest” HERE ) 

White Moth Black Butterfly vocalist Daniel Tompkins explains further the connectivity between the two songs and how the band’s vision was brought to life within the rugged & stunning backdrop of Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park in Scotland.

“’Atone’ is a big step up in terms of our sound and forward thinking. Two aspects we were keen to have running throughout the music, artwork and visuals were that of nature and nostalgia, so when the opportunity arose to include an old friend with an interesting occupation, we jumped at the chance! It transpired our friend, Darren Mitchell, is a ‘Warrior’ for the Duncarron Medieval Village and Clanranald Trust in Scotland, and is employed as a film extra in battle re-enactment – I was immediately intrigued.

Having always wanted to shoot a video in Scotland, as it’s such a beautiful place, this was the perfect opportunity to create a piece of art that, for once, had an interesting and unusual concept. The videos for ‘Tempest’ and ‘Evelyn’ are both connected and filmed in The Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park and the Duncarron Medieval Village. The symbol that can be seen in both videos represents the heart and soul of the Duncarron people, and with the help of Jordan Turner, we created a contemporary dance that would unleash its power. The videos touch on themes of loss and abandonment, but also faith, courage, and rebirth. To add to the mystic and creative nature of the project, we decided to release the concluding episode first. We couldn’t be happier with how both videos have turned out, and with the help of Richard Oakes and Adam Leader of Dark Fable Media, the quality of the visuals far exceeded our expectations.”

 White Moth Black Butterfly, the contemporary pop project, features a team of songwriters & producers based worldwide, all at the height of their own scenes. The members met through working on Skyharbor, one of India’s biggest rock bands – Daniel Tompkins, vocalist with UK’s premier progressive rock band TesseracT (also on Kscope); New-Delhi based Skyharbor songwriter and producer Keshav Dhar; US based producer and string arranger Randy Slaugh who has previously worked with the likes of Devin Townsend, Architects & Periphery. Randy wrote and tracked string arrangements for Skyharbor’s second album Guiding Lights, and as their relationship grew, he was invited in as a third song-writer. White Moth Black Butterfly’s line up is completed by UK singer & lyricist Jordan Turner.

Their new studio album Atone, the follow up to White Moth Black Butterfly’s 2014 self-released debut One Thousand Wings; which was recorded across the globe at studios in India, the UK, US and Taiwan, is masterfully built on organic, textured and cinematic soundscapes, with two opposing themes of loss and hope.
