DEC Artists Presents ’30 Days of LatinX’ Video Series w/Creators Julissa Arce, Daniel Dart and Salvador Santana; L.A. Event on 9/22 with Speakers Diane Guerrero, Enrique Castillo, Julissa Arce, and Panel Moderator/Grammy Award winner Salvador Santana

o celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month, social impact entrepreneur Daniel Dart and his company, DEC Artists, have teamed up with author and Immigrant Rights activist Julissa Arce and Grammy Award-winning musician and producer Salvador Santana to bring us 30 Days of LatinX, a video campaign that highlights the full American story of the LatinX, one that includes the history and contributions of Latinos in every phase of history and in every area of American society. The campaign will consist of 30 videos, one of which will be released every day at 10 a.m. PST, September 15-October 14, on DEC Artists’ Facebook page at: https://www.facebook.com/decartists/.

“My hope is that our community will be empowered by the knowledge that lies in our robust history in America. Next time someone tells us to go back to where we came from, we can remind them that Latinos have always been here and we will continue to be a key factor for American prosperity,” said Julissa Arce of her involvement with the project.

“In a time when you have such a fragmented society and a president that openly advocates for a white nationalist agenda, just saying you’re against it is no longer enough. That’s why this campaign is important, because it celebrates the contributions and achievements of nonwhite people. America is not a white nation; it is a nation of all people that succeeds because of its diversity, not in spite of it,” said DEC Artists founder and campaign co-creator Daniel Dart, on why 30 Days of LatinX is needed so badly right now.

To kick off ‘30 Days of LatinX’ pop-ups, DEC Artists will be hosting an event at Pico Youth & Family Center in Santa Monica, California, on Friday, September 22, from 7-10 p.m., to celebrate the campaign and Hispanic Heritage, History and Impact. There will be drinks and hors d’oeuvres, as well as a panel featuring Diane Guerrero (Orange is the New Black), Enrique Castillo (Blood In Blood Out, El Norte), and Julissa Arce (Author of My (Underground) American Dream). The panel will be moderated by Grammy Award winner Salvador Santana, and will discuss what inspired these LatinX to pursue change through art. Book signing by Diane, Enrique and Julissa to follow event. This is a free event. Seating on first come, first served, with standing area available. Free ‘30 Days of LatinX’ giveaways throughout the night by Los Mayores (while supplies last).

More events in New York and Washington, D.C., to be announced soon.
