Australia’s alt-pop favorites Tigertown have premiered the official video for their single “Warriors” HERE via Blackbook just ahead of the sold out Los Angeles stop of their tour supporting VÉRITÉ. The original single “Warriors” premiered on Billboard HERE last month, — the latest testament to their knack for creating pop songs that feel huge and triumphant, yet all at once warm with an infectious and danceable energy. It was followed by a dynamic GLADES remix HERE, and their stripped down version HERE.

“Warriors” arrived ahead of the band’s sold out run supporting Tove Loin Australia, which they capped off by releasing a sweltering official remix of Tove’s “Vibes” HERE. The band recently embarked on a North American tour supporting VÉRITÉ running through September and will be joining Great Good Fine Ok for a string of dates in early November. “Warriors” is out now proudly on Neon Gold Records / Atlantic.

“When Imogen came to us with the idea for the video, we loved that it focused on the deeper meaning of the song,” Tigertown remarked about the video, “We imagined fireworks and dancing when we wrote it, but there are also some darker emotions at the song’s core. We feel the video captures both sides beautifully. We also got very good at jumping backwards onto safety mats.”

A song about the divide between fantasy and reality, “Warriors” carries on themes of love and introspection which lie behind much of Tigertown’s lyricism. It explores the internal monologue of two people who experience an idealised love in their dreams, which they can never quite transfer into the actuality of everyday life.

On “Warriors”, Tigertown embody the foundation of pop’s tradition – turning emotion into art, pain into pleasure –  taking the tribulations of the human condition and remoulding them into a glittering, celebratory audio spectacle – “I can’t shake the way I’m feeling / Cause I love you when I’m Dreaming”.

The single carries on from the euphoric highs of Tigertown’s debutLonely Cities EP in 2015 and it’s wildfire single of the same name (10 million streams and counting), and the release of 2016’s Papernote EP, which saw the title track remixed by BØRNS x Tommy English and The Knocks. The past 12 months has also seen them crystallize their unique anthemic sound on the stage, touring the world with the likes of Troye Sivan, St. Lucia, Panic! At The Disco and MS MR, and releasing official remixes for BØRNS, Tove Lo, Grouplove and Crystal Fighters.

In both title and sound, “Warriors” is Tigertown’s most auspicious offering yet – a sign of their unrelenting momentum toward an even brighter future. Don’t miss out on seeing the band live!
