Can you talk to us more about your latest single “Everything”?
Yeah. This was is a song I started writing in the winter. I made most of it in my bedroom. It’s sort of like a fantasy love story. I wanted it to feel dreamy and sexy. When I was writing it I was playing a ton of guitar. It’s kind of a more evolved song with progressive and R&B elements combined.
Did any event, in particular, inspire you to write this song?
Yeah definitely. It’s a love song about a girl that I couldn’t seem to shake. She kept reappearing in my life but was quite elusive.
Any plans to release a video for the single?
How was the recording and writing process?
It was pretty short. I did a lot of experimenting with this one, but the idea never took any wild turns.
What role does NYC play in your music?
NYC is a place where you’re constantly experiencing wild things in daily life. I meet a lot of interesting and inspiring people here and I think that contributes to my writing quite a bit.
How’s your new album coming along?
Almost done! Fingers crossed.
Any tentative release date or title in mind?
Probably the top of the New Year.
Any plans to hit the road?
Yeah. In process of setting up dates for the winter and spring now
What else is happening next in YellowShoots‘ world?
I bought a bunch cool vintage tape delays and gear. Just learning how to use them in my productions. Excited to get started in rehearsing my band. Starting to get cabin fever in the studio.
