PREMIERE: DREW ERWIN RELEASES NEW EP AND NEW SINGLE ‘TENNESSEE & ME’

Today, VENTS is pleased to team up with Americana/indie-folk singer-songwriter Drew Erwin who is back with his new Covers In A Bar EP today. The intimate set of songs is led by a new single, Tennessee & Me, that shows off the full range of his songwriting talent and razor-sharp voice.

Drew Erwin is a 21 year-old singer songwriter based out of Memphis, Tennessee. Two years of playing the downtown bar scene and studying the songcraft of the greats honed his writing, and led to an intimate, honest and raw musical delivery. Erwin’s powerful mix of melancholy melodies and lyrical tales of growing up and getting out draw comparisons to fellow Tennesseans Kings Of Leon as well as genre heavyweights James Bay and Ray Lamontagne.

“With this set of songs, I wanted to strip away the idea of making it some big production,” explains the young singer-songwriter. “Getting the guitar and vocal tracks live on the floor is what really sets the vibe and allowed me to capture the intimacy I was chasing.”

For Erwin, Tennessee & Me was inspired by both the anchor of a relationship and the pull of the road, of new experiences. “The song is really just about not letting love hold you back from seeing all that this world has to offer. If whoever you’re with truly loves you, they should want to be right there with you experiencing it first hand. I love my hometown and the people in it, but I never want that to keep me from going new places.
