Million Miles is French soul-singer Sophie Baudry. On November 3rd she’ll release her debut EP, Berry Hill. The EP was produced by Robin Eaton and Paul Ebersold and recorded in Nashville, TN. Today, she releases the debut single with accompanying video, “Ice Cream And Cigarettes.”
Sophie Baudry was raised in Paris and lives in London but was trained at Boston’s famed Berklee College of Music. After returning to London, Baudry kept feeling the pull towards American Soul music- specifically the evocative voices of Ray Charles and Bill Withers. Baudry has a similar signature voice, one that’s amiable and full of melancholy all at once. So she set off for the U.S. to look for inspiration and to write and record in Nashville, TN. After a chance meeting, she headed in to the studio with songwriter/ producers Robin Eaton and Paul Ebersold.
Slowly over the course of a year, Baudry would come to Eaton’s and Ebersold’s studios in the Berry Hill neighborhood of Nashville to write and record. The result is Million Miles’ debut EP, Berry Hill, a four song collection of Baudry’s most personal observations wrapped in the warm glow of her stunning and intimate voice.
