A tale of rejecting love: Pallab Sarker’s new video for ‘Not Gonna Fall In Love With You’

After a successful career as a ministerial press advisor to the former labour government, Pallab Sarker has now launched himself a career as an indie-acoustic singer-songwriter with the endearing, heart-warming video for his latest single, ‘Not Gonna Fall in Love With You’.

Pallab’s breezy summer offering is accompanied by a video to match, with the first person, point of view camera narrating a tale of fighting all your urges not to fall in love with someone that you’re instantly attracted to.

Ukranian born actress and model, Jenny Hansel, stars as the video’s love interest, who is best known for appearing in 2017’s short film Despondency. Jenny has also featured as a catwalk model at fashion shows for La Marche and Doller Crème.

The video was shot by award-winning film production company, Bradgate Films, whose film, Ashes, won best international feature film at Garden State Film Festival (New York State) and their last short film, Gone Fishing, starred Devon Murray, who played Seamus Finnigan in the popular Harry Potter film series.

For a long time, Pallab led a seemingly ‘double life’; he was a press adviser to Ministers in the day, including Trade Minister Lord Digby Jones during the last Labour administration, and a musician by night, but on one occasion he merged the two, performing a gig in the atrium of the home office in the name of Children in Need, raising thousands of pounds in the process.

Since his band days, Pallab has developed his sound as a solo artist and he can now be considered a genuine songbird, whose arresting voice and touching melodies ooze with emotional value, speaking straight to the hearts of his listeners. Within Sarker’s work is a humanizing touch, most clearly exhibited through his kind, clever lyricism and its sonic journey instigating abilities, which can be found on ‘Not Gonna Fall In Love With You’.

Inspired by the likes of Elliot SmithJeff Buckley and Tracy Chapman, Pallab borrows elements from these iconic songwriters in order to form his individual style that proves him to be a charismatic poet for the modern age.
