Fresh off a run of sold-out U.S. shows earlier this summer, Anglo-Danish trio Off Bloom, the band thatNYLON proclaims will “rock your life hard,” return today with the release of their feisty new single “Shut Up And Let Me Walk,” available now on Capitol Records. Listen HERE.
Speaking about the new track, Off Bloom reveal, “we wrote this song on a feeling of anger! Proper anger and frustration! In today’s society, anger and sadness are seen as weak traits, but for us, it’s the contrary. Weakness is not being able to acknowledge that we all fuck up from time to time, that we can all be fucking stupid. The three of us had each been going through this frustration, whether it was because of the current political climate and the fact that Trump became president, or it was a fight with some fake music industry wanker or it was because of some bullshit from a boy/girl… we’d had enough! So shut up and let me walk!”
The attitude-laden kiss-off track serves as the follow up to the band’s previous single “Falcon Eye,” released this past winter. Watch the epic music video directed by Nadia Marquard OtzenHERE. These two explosive singles marked the first taste of new music from Off Bloom since the release of the band’s breakthrough debut EP Love To Hate It.
Splitting their time between Copenhagen and their current home, London, all three band members – Mette on vocals and Alex and Mads on production– write and produce anthemic, inventive electro-pop overlaid with beautiful melodies. “We don’t want to do something that’s already been done,” say Off Bloom, who are part of a group of artists and producers including Two Inch Punch, AlunaGeorge, Tove Lo, Liss, MØ, Goss, School Of X, Vera and Vasco who are pushing boundaries and injecting pop music with a snarling DIY punk spirit.
Tipped as an Artist to Watch in 2017 by Google Play, the band have been working on tracks with some of the most adventurous talents in music over the past few months, including Hudson Mohawke (Kanye West), Two Inch Punch (Sam Smith, Years & Years, Anne-Marie, Rag’n’Bone Man) and Kid Harpoon (Florence & The Machine, James Bay, Haim), not to mention hitting the road in high profile supporting slots, opening for the likes of Dua Lipa and LANY across the UK and Europe.
Stay tuned for more exciting Off Bloom news to come.
