Spencer Burton announced plans today to hit the east coast for a slew of dates in support of his latest release “Songs Of” which dropped earlier this year (May 2017), via vanguard Canadian indie label, Dine Alone Records. The tour will see Burton visit Halifax, Fredericton, Charlottetown and more before returning to Toronto for a show at the Drake Underground on September 25th.
A musical virtuoso, Burton’s gift is telling real stories, using everyday language and engaging audiences with purposeful artistic output. Fearlessly invested in the album, “Songs Of” features 11 original songs penned by Burton including the country-gospel weeper “Broken Hearts and Broken Chains” which premiered on CBC q earlier this year, and by contrast, the uplifting and optimistic “Unmistakable Love” which saw its exclusive debut on The Strombo Show last April.
Spanning a musical life with hard core beginnings (Attack In Black), to the somber strings of his acoustic guitar in the realm of country-folk (Grey Kingdom) and collaborative years of writing and performing live in City and Colour, Burton is a mainstay musical wunderkind.
Earlier this summer, Burton took the stage at Cavendish Beach Music Festival and played venues across southern Ontario including Toronto’s Adelaide Hall. He most recently played at the legendary Horseshoe Tavern as part of “The OC: Covering Their Tracks” show featuring members of Brave Shores, The Fast Romantics, The Beaches and more.
