INTERVIEW: ‘Balearic pop’ duo L.V.S.T

Hi guys, welcome to VENTS! How have you been?

It’s raining in July, but we’re coping… we have been marvellous nonetheless. Secret Garden Party was great fun last weekend, despite the rain.

Can you talk to us more about your latest single “Taste Like Summer”?

It was written in Ibiza .Mental summer last year. It’s about these two girls we met…

Did any event in particular inspire you to write this song?

Yes, meeting at a David Guetta after party and spending a summer in Ibiza starting a band – we wanted to capture that feeling of just living for the moment.

Any plans to release a video for the single?

We’ve released a lyric video already – have you not seen it ?

How was the recording and writing process?

Bedroom demos and then we finished it with Yoadnevo whose worked with pet shop boys, dandy Warhols and Sia to name a few!

Can you tell us more about this sound you guys define as “Balearic pop”?

Balearic beats have been around since the 80s … we are just adding some Miami vibe into the mix 😉

What role does the 80s play in your music?

The 80s influence gives us the glamour and attitude ….

Does your new single mean we can expect a new album – how’s that coming along?

We have some tracks … another single soon I’m sure…

Any tentative release date or title in mind?

Not yet I’m afraid…

Any plans to hit the road?

Not currently, very early days ..but it could happen very soon

What else is happening next in L.V.S.T’s world?

It’s Saturday night so… jamiesons and whisky…
