Passion Pit has partnered with Out On Tour, combining creative and philanthropic forces, to release a limited edition band t-shirt in support of their latest album. Both the album and t-shirt will be available Friday, July 28, 2017. The t-shirt will be exclusively for sale on www.outontour.com. All the profits will be going to the Stanley Center for Psychiatric Research at Broad Institute of Harvard University/Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Passion Pit’s Michael Angelakos is extremely dedicated to the advocacy of mental health awareness. He was diagnosed with bipolar disorder at the age of 18 and has been publicly struggling with it ever since. The new album, Tremendous Sea of Love, receives its official digital release on streaming platforms on July 28th, also donating royalties to the Stanley Center for Psychiatric Research at Broad Institute.
The front of the limited edition t-shirt is a simple representation of the album’s layered messages. Inspired by Passion Pit’s new album as well as Angelakos’s dedication to mental health awareness, Out On Tour worked side by side with Angelakos to create the artwork. On the back of the t-shirt, Out On Tour scanned in and then screen printed the original letter that Angelakos wrote to his fans, explaining the purpose behind Tremendous Sea Of Love.
Angelakos is also the founder of the Wishart Group, a holding company that develops and houses nonprofit and for-profit entities, services, and programs. It was first developed to build protective services and benefit programs for musical artists and professionals.
Out On Tour will be launching the unisex limited edition band tee for only $20. The price will go up $10 every 72 hours until they are all sold out. All profits from the Passion Pit x Out On Tour tee will be going to Stanley Center for Psychiatric Research at Broad Institute of Harvard University/Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
