INTERVIEW: James Barre

Hi James, welcome to VENTS! How have you been?

I’ve been great! Thanks for asking.

Can you talk to us more about your latest single “Don’t Say”?

Don’t Say is one of those feel good jams that really gets you moving to the beat. We did our best to make it fun and relatable.

Did any event in particular inspire you to write this song?

I have such a great writing team.  We were inspired by the idea summer love on vacation at the beach and never wanting it to end.

Any plans to release a video for the single?

Yes!  We will be releasing the Don’t Say animated lyric video next month!

How was the recording and writing process?

The process could not have been better. I work with an amazingly talented team.  They are so upbeat and positive!   We continuely bring out the best in each other in every session!

How has Shawn Mendes and Charlie Puth influence your writing?

Shaun Mendes and Charlie Puth’s lyrics  leave me thinking and wanting more. I  always want  to capture that element in my work.  They are fantastic example for us up-and-comer’s.

Does your new single mean we can expect a new album – how’s that coming along?

There is definitely an EP on the way.  Lots of great music in progress!

Any tentative release date or title in mind?
