Leisure Club is set to release their third single “Still Young” with a show at the Cobalt in Vancouver BC, on July 21st, 2017.
Recorded at Afterlife and The Noise Floor on Galiano Island and Engineered by Jordan Koop, Elisa Pangsaeng and Shawn Cole, mixed at Fader Mountain by Shawn Cole, and mastered by Brock McFarlane at CPS Mastering. “Still Young” marks the first release from the band in over a year and is also the first release off their upcoming album slated for release in the Fall of 2017.
Juxtaposing an upbeat dance groove against lyrics describing the inevitability of getting older in the face of wanting to experience the most out of youth. “Still Young” aims to show that the very thing we chase when we are young is what also makes us older, the experience. “Take me out while we’re still young, take me out while we can feel it” is the urge to squeeze the last drops out of life after realizing that it’s finite and won’t last forever. The pursuit of youth only has one outcome, the loss of youth.
Over the last year the the group saddled up with producer Shawn Cole (You Say Party, Yukon Blonde, Bend Sinister) and headed to The Noise Floor on Gabriola to record their debut, self titled, LP with Jordan Koop manning the board. Leisure Club looks forward to sharing it’s nostalgic charm and summer breeze across North America.
