INTERVIEW: GT & Wildfire

Hi guys, welcome to VENTS! How have you been?

We have been great! It’s been a busy start to the year so far!

Can you talk to us more about your latest single “Little Dance”?

After our last single, we wanted to go a little deeper but also wanted to keep the same Housey sax vibe. So that’s how little dance came about.

Did any event in particular inspire you to write this song?

Everyone’s night/morning dancing on a beach, somewhere in the world. Sand between your toes, meeting someone and dancing.

Any plans to release a video for the single?

No plans to release a full video clip as yet, but a lyric video will be coming out soon.

How was the recording and writing process?

Our writing process always starts with some basic chords & production. From there we really wanted to work with Pamp le Mousse, so GT had a session with him in Sydney and came up with the initial demo. After that, it’s was just a matter of nailing the sound design and production!

As with most dance records you go through a few diff options and variations before you get to the gold!

After the success from your previous record, were you any nervous while working on this newest single?

Not really…. we just try to write good songs each time. ‘Little Dance’ felt good so we chose it as the follow up.

Do you tend to take a different approach when you are collaborating with someone else than when you are writing in your own?

Definitely! When collaborating you have to take each person’s opinion , style and taste on board and make it a reflection of those 3 influences. If you choose the right people to work with, these things flow pretty easily. Also delegating tasks helps a lot too!

Does your new single mean we can expect a new album – how’s that coming along?

No album plans, but working on future single releases right now.

Any plans to hit the road?

Hopefully later in the year… when its a little warmer in Australia!

What else is happening next in GT & Wildfire’s world?

Working on much more music to come later in the year! 😉
