Keeping up with the past, we have also teamed up today with the band Crash City Saints who are back with their latest single “Act 2” off their album, ‘Are You Free?’ (out on 11th August via Saint Marie Records). The song is filled with this melodies that takes us back to the heydays of Alternative music back in the 90s with magnetic vocals and overall sound that gives a very psychedelic vibe to the song.

About the song, Joshua Garman comments

“This song was written for my brother Ryan, who stayed behind in Florida when I moved to Michigan. He was going through a rough patch, and it was my hope that this would in some way cheer him up. Songs meant to convey happiness or inspire hope in a way that feels authentic are hard to write I think. Such songs generally come off as either fake or cloying. That said, it’s as real an emotion as sadness, anger, or any of the other negative sentiments that so many artists love to pull from for inspiration, so why not try every now and then?”

Hailing from Kalamazoo, Michigan, CCS are back with the long awaited follow up to Glow In The Dark Music, which inspired rave reviews back in 2010, with single “Out From The Storm” winning Song of the Day honors from KEXP.

Highlighted by the contribution of Cocteau Twins’ Simon Raymonde, ‘Are You Free?’ is something of a shoegaze Quadrophenia, telling the (autobiographical) story of a teenager growing up in a dead-end small town in the early 90s. And finding sort of a path to salvation by listening to bands like MBV, Smashing Pumpkins, Galaxie 500, and the whole Madchester scene.
