INTERVIEW: Captivating singer/songwriter Chloey Rose

Hi Chloey, welcome to VENTS! How have you been?

Hey Vents!! I’m delighted to hear from you!! I’ve been working towards the release of my new single and can’t wait to tell you all about It.

Can you talk more about your latest single?

My brand new single is currently ‘TRACK OF THE WEEK’ on BBC Radio Lincolnshire’s Introducing Show!! It will be out July 14th and is having a great response so far! There is an abundance of radio stations lined up to play the track and I am absolutely determined to be heard and pursue my career as a singer/songwriter and recording artist.

Did any event in particular inspire you to write this song?

I’ve always found myself writing music about things I’ve personally experienced whether love heartache or stories that have inspired me to write. The exciting part is not giving too much away about the lyrics, as I love the mystery of it and that it then allows my listeners to create their own memories, stories and connections to the lyrics. I’m fascinated to hear everyone’s thoughts on the songs and sharing it with the world is the best gift of all!

Any plans to release a video for the song?

Yes, the official music video I’m currently filming at the moment, which will take place in a forest setting and being an actress I love to recreate the drama of it all.

How was the recording and writing process?

It was great!!! Firstly I always begin writing my music on the piano and then imagine a variety of instruments I wish to introduce to make the tracks unique and recognisable.

My favourite part was the recording process, most of all I enjoyed working with the producer and musicians as I felt they really understood my vision and the direction the music was going. It was such a creative atmosphere and during the recording of the track the musicians were playing live as I was singing the vocals so it really helped built the tension and mood of the song.

How have Kate Bush and Ben Howard influenced your songwriting?

I’ve been greatly influenced by the very quirky Kate Bush because her lyrics tell a story filled with emotion and drama. She is a true artist like no other and that’s how I aspire to be.

Ben Howard’s vocal performances are very soulful, I believe every word and because of this he bring his lyrics to life. He has such a gift to connect with his audience vocally so he influences my music as I use a lot of visual imagery within my lyrics and very emotive vocally within my performances.

How’s your new EP coming along?

It’s really coming together, I’ve selected some of my best tracks for the debut EP and the music has been brought to life so I can’t wait to share this with my listeners. The title track of the EP is also my single called ‘True Love’.

Any tentative release date or title in mind?

True Love will be released on July 14th, I have a new single to follow this in the coming months and my EP in September but it’s all a secret for now.

Any plans to hit the road?

I will travel anywhere for my music, wherever my music takes me.  I have huge aspirations with my singer/songwriting and it would be a dream come true to travel the world with my music.

What else is happening next in Chloey Rose’s World!

I Recently co-hosted the BBC Introducing Show with BBC Radio Lincolnshire on July 1st which was a lot of fun and performed at this years Lincolnshire Show. During the last month I competed in the finals of the Miss British Isles competition which was an amazing experience. Coming up I have lots of radio interviews to plug my new music and I will be performing at Market Raisin race course for lady’s day on the 22nd July to showcase my new single.
