The Unlikely Candidates Release Guerrilla Style Politically Charged Video For “Violence” – Filmed At Bootleg In LA

Today, Fort Worth, TX alternative rock band, The Unlikely Candidates is world premiering the new music video for their song “Violence,” filmed at the Bootleg Theater in Los Angeles CA. Watch it HERE.  “Violence” is the second single off their Bed Of Liars EP, listen HERE, which was released earlier this year on Another Century Records / Sony.  Their songs have over 10 million listens on Spotify while the band has almost 200,000 Monthly Listeners.

“Violence” was written by singer, Kyle Morris out of the frustration he felt when seeing and hearing stories of police brutality in the news. “The theme of the song ‘Violence’ is two-fold,” says Kyle Morris. “On one hand, I wrote it out of the frustration I felt when seeing and hearing stories of police brutality in the news especially the stories of Eric Garner and Freddy Gray. I have tremendous respect for the police and the pressures they are under on a daily basis but I chose to write about the outstanding incidents that seem to be happening more and more these days. The song echoes the bleak outlook of police brutality in America by personifying it as an abusive relationship between a couple.  The person in the song is trapped in abusive relationship with a paranoid, controlling, and ruthless lover. No matter what the abused does they cannot seem to satisfy or escape the love of their abuser. The pressure and passion lead to an endless cycle of punishment.”

The band has been on the road all year playing headline dates, festivals and radio shows winning over audiences wherever they play, building their reputation of putting on outstanding live performances.  MySpace named them the “…number one pick for who you must see at SXSW this year.”  The band recently played Philadelphia’s 104.5’s Birthday Bash show featuring Kings Of Leon, The 1975, Empire Of The Sun, Bastile and more.  The station’s Jammmin’ Jessie said of their performance, “WOWOWOWW…Kyle Morris their frontman was an absolute animal on that stage. He was sliding around, rolling in the water, just totally captivating the audience and giving the most stand out performance from the entire day.”
