Alt/electro/pop band, Yes You Are, drop their track/video, “HGX.” The track may already be familiar as it premiered on Pepsi’s Superbowl 51 commercial. Since its unveiling, the track has been played thousands of time, during broadcasts including the Billboard Music Awards, Oscars and The Bachelor finale. Still in heavy rotation, the song was also featured in the hit movie Bad Moms, as well as FX’s Tyrant and MTV’s Scream. The quintet are putting the finishing touches on their debut LP with producers Greg Collins (U2, No Doubt, KISS, Eels) and David Spreng (Bob Dylan, Alice Cooper, Lucinda Williams).
Formed in 2014 by Kianna Alarid (vocals), Jared White (rhythm guitar/vocals), Jacob Temeyer (lead guitar/vocals), Willie Jordan (bass) and Joseph Wilner (drums). They were already on the media’s radar at the start, due to Alarid’s history with the critically-acclaimed indie band Tilly and the Wall, who had gained attention through touring with She and Him, Bright Eyes, Rilo Kiley, Of Montreal and CSS, playing venues around the world and hitting major festivals like Coachella, Japan’s Summersonic, Iceland Airwaves, Reading, Leeds, Scotland’s T In The Park and Australia’s Splendor In The Grass as well as performing on Late Night with David Letterman and Sesame Street. Shortly after Yes You Are’s establishment, their new music was discovered by Tyler Glenn of Neon Trees. Less than a week later, Yes You Are was officially invited to support Neon Trees on their US summer tour. Now the band are excited to drop their first album after the momentum of the first single, “HGX,” acquired through its commercial success.
With the release of “HGX” and more music on the way, Mills Record Company declares, “Yes You Are has a sound that is impossible not to be affected by. Perfect for bringing bodies together on a darkened dance floor, Yes You Are is the band that will save indie pop.” Stay tuned for more exciting announcements, shows and releases leading up to Yes You Are’s debut.
