Los Angeles-based Prince Fox teams up with actress/singer Bella Thorne on the uninhibited single “Just Call,” premiered on NYLON. Intermingling future bass with smooth, sultry vocals, this harmonious duet soars like a danceable pop song, but bites back with grit. On how the song came together, Prince Fox recalls,
“I didn’t really know Bella, but we kept seeing each other around town. When we finally met, I told her I was working on a song and would love to have her on it. She was down and said, ‘We should make it a duet.’ The rest is history…”
An outspoken advocate, passionate about issues relating to dyslexia, feminism, bisexuality, and anti-bullying, Thorne isn’t your typical Disney starlet. Boasting over 30 million followers across Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Snapchat — the 3rd most followed user on Snapchat in the world, 19-year-old Bella Thorne is undoubtedly a pop culture phenomenon. She has been acting since adolescence, appearing on early episodes of The OC and Entourage, before landing her breakout role as a star on hit Disney show Shake It Up, at the young age of 13.
Between forthcoming feature films Midnight Sun and The Death And Life of John F Donovan, the latter starring alongside Natalie Portman and Jessica Chastain, and recent lead roles in The Duff, Famous in Love and 2017 Netflix thriller You Get Me, Thorne has successfully shifted her Disney image organically to become one of the bravest, most magnetic personalities shaping the cultural zeitgeist. “Just Call” marks her return to music following a three-year absence and her millions of fans are waiting on the edge of their seats.
Born Sam Lassner, Prince Fox has made a name for himself as one of the premier future pop producers in the game. Tapped to remix tracks such as Florence and The Machine’s “You Got The Love,” Cazzette’s “Blind Heart,” and SNBRN’s “Raindrops (ft. Kerli),” the latter of which accrued over 7.8 million Soundcloud plays, breaking into Beatport’s Top 5 and #1 Hype Machine. Lassner is no stranger to success in the original space either, Casablanca / Republic Records took notice and signed him in late 2015, and his debut EP Musings soon followed afterward. His most notable work, a collaboration with Academy Award-nominated actress/singer Hailee Steinfeld, “Fragile,” has seen over 8 million Spotify streams. Following two years of near constant touring, today marks his return to original music and the first time his own vocals will be heard on a track since the Musings EP.
