EPROM Releases New EP, ‘Pineapple,’ Ft. G Jones Remix- Out Today

Over the course of his career, Portland-based DJ / producer EPROM has been awarded numerous critical accolades and support among his peers from artists including Flume, Aphex Twin, Bassnectar, Machinedrum, RezzG Jones, and more. Ready to return after a string of releases that include two studio albums, over six EP’s and singles via some of electronic music’s most revered labels including  Warp, Rwina, Surefire, Cloak x Dagger, and more, official remixes for acts like The Glitch Mob, a collaborative EP with Barclay Crenshaw (aka Claude VonStroke,) and even a side project called Shades with Alix Perez, EPROM is now ready to unveil the next chapter of his discography with new EP, ‘Pineapple.’

A collection of five singles, ‘Pineapple’ hears EPROM continue to advance a sound Resident Advisor has described as “meshing the rude with the avant garde.” The “manipulator of sound” fires up a new sonic journey with the EP’s title track that marries abstract sample usage with crunchy bass and industrial sounding synth. Continuing on to slow-burning “Zwelhander,” EPROM embarks on brazen Hip-Hop influenced rhythms that will find a welcome home among fans of acts like TNGHT. Moving on to “Koummya” and “B.F.G,” we see EPROM land in familiar territory that is likely to resonate most with fans of the classic EPROM sound. For the final piece of the tracklist, “Pineapple” takes on new life thanks to a remix by frequent collaborator G Jones. Infusing his often bombastic sample usage, dub elements, and penchant for head-banging melodies, Jones’ interpretation of “Pineapple” stays true to both artists’ ethos of keeping things as experimental as possible.

Fans can also hear the EP played out live at a number of EPROM tour dates this summer, kicking off with Electric Forest on June 30th. EPROM will also be joining Zed’s Dead Deadbeats national tour with dates soon to be announced, and you can catch him at Lollapalooza’s sold-out official after party where he’ll be playing B2B with G Jones.
