18-year-old alternative singer/songwriter, and socially conscious artist, Declan McKenna, will release his debut album What Do You Think About The Car? on July 21 via Columbia Records. The album is a follow-up to Declan’s EP Liar which was released last May. The full-length album was recorded in London and LA alongside renowned producer James Ford of Simian Mobile Disco (Depeche Mode, Artic Monkeys). The song “Listen To Your Friends” was produced by Rostam Batmanglij of Vampire Weekend; the track, “Paracetamol” was produced by Neil Comber; and “Brazil” was produced by Max Marlow. Declan recently performed a standout set at Glastonbury, which DIY Magazine hailed as a “shot in the arm,” and will spend this summer touring the US, performing at Lollapalooza and various headlining dates including New York, Chicago, and Boston. Recently, Declan unveiled the official video for the single “Humongous,” off What Do You Think About The Car?, which Out Magazine calls “a whimsical ode to the adventures we thought up and played out in our childhood.” Watch it here.
