Dark pop songstress JULY JONES dives into summer with her epic debut single and accompanying video ‘JUMP IN THE WATER’

London based singer/songwriter and creative July Jones releases her debut single, the haunting electro-pop offering ‘Jump In The Water’. The stark, atmospheric production (which comes courtesy of Tylr Schnydyr) is balanced by July’s strong and naturally soulful vocal delivery. In a recent interview with Notion Magazine she explains the meaning of the track, July says:

“Jump in the Water is quite metaphorical. It talks about me jumping into the water, which in my case translates to life in general; I always dive fully into what I believe in, which happens to be music, love, and the beliefs that I hold.”

To coincide with this release, the 20 year old singer drops this stunning music video to accompany the track. With imagery playing a huge part in all her content, she explains:

“Every time I write, I see the sound visually, and I always gravitate towards something I call a ‘blue’ sound. For me, the colour blue translates to the dark, cold contemporary feel that I want people to recognize me for.”

After playing The Great Escape in May and headlining Notting Hill Arts Club for her single launch in June, she has been featured in this month’s issue of Notion Magazine with double page interview and shoot as part of their featured rising artists. As a proud promoter of all things LGBT, she has already has played London Pride main stage last year and will be performing again at Trafalgar Square to more than 40,000 as part of this year’s London Pride on 8th of July. Fans can also catch her play at The Hospital Club, Covent Garden on 5th of July.

Outside of her solo career she has co-written for other artists, gaining BBC Radio 1 play-listed tracks along the way. Now fully focusing on her own material she dives into the summer with this debut track and a full remix package to follow.
