Chlöe Howl returns to the foray with her new single Magnetic, out today Friday June 16th 2017. During Chloe’s two year break from releasing records she has honed her song writing skills and written and produced a new record with long-time collaborator, NYC to London transplant Chris Zane (Passion Pit, St Lucia, Friendly Fires).
“I wrote magnetic about those relationships that are endlessly toxic, but you can’t help being pulled back into time and again. Magnetic is about me trying to convince myself that it was down to fate not my own foolish actions.”-Chlöe Howl
Chlöe knew music was what she wanted to do from the age of ten, growing up in Berkshire on the hip-hop she’d hear blasting from her older sister’s bedrooms and the New Order and The Smiths records her dad used to play in the car. Chlöe left school at the age of sixteen and scored a record deal with Columbia Records shortly after. Howl spent the next three years writing and recording songs, doing studio time with the likes of Justin Parker, Joel Pott, Samuel Preston, EG White. Much anticipation for the young artist also brewed during this time; in 2014, Chlöe was nominated for BBC’s ‘Sound of’ poll alongside Sam Smith, FKA Twigs and Ella Eyra, and ‘Critics’ Choice’ at BRIT Awards.
Chlöe’s new track is a perfect reflection for where she’s at right now. Turning just twenty-two this year, Chlöe finally feels ready to unleash her new material. 2017 marks a bold new journey for the young artist.
