PREMIERE: NYNA Releases New Single “Faces”

Wrapping up another premiere, we got a track that pretty much sums up what we’ve been enjoying the past few days – Faces by NYNA is both haunting, smooth yet electric in an almost sensual way. The beats get beneath your skin as NYNA own voice hypnotize you.

As NYNA herself has comment, the Single, Faces is about “ dealing with the badness of this world, and finding love for yourself… It’s just an honest song”. It also comes with a very striking and powerful video with a clear message, which shows the beauties of our world and how we’re living in it, for better and for worse.

Classically trained, NYNA has played the piano since the age of 5 and started writing classical piano music at the age of 12. A few years later started writing pop songs. Although being her first single, she’s already built a nice online fanbase through her covers of such songs as Hozier’s ‘Take Me To Church’ and Adele’s ‘I Miss You’ amassing over 132k plays.

Faces was written and produced by NYNA and her close friend Shemzy whom she met at music college. The track has hints of baroque pop in the dense drums and strings, yet the bubbling electronics and the vocals guide the song towards a more haunting theme. The hook in the song, “This is my world/ Nothing’s gonna break my world”,is the message of empowerment and self-love.

She grew up listening to a range of artists such as Alanis Morrisette, Madonna and Nirvana, and draws on these influences alongside newer influences like Lana Del Rey, London Grammar, and Sia.

With a number of exciting new music to be released over the coming few months along with new shows, this young creative will be the one to watch.
