London based five-piece, TALMA are set to release a brand new single on their own Southcote Records imprint on the 2nd of June 2017. Listen here
‘Heads Down’ was self -recorded over the last month at Attic Studios in Newbury and then mastered by Pete Dowsett (Arcane Roots, Royal Blood) at Metropolis. The follow up to 2016’s debut ‘All Roads Lead Home’ EP, the new single was written last year and deals with scattered childhood memories of seemingly endless minute silences.
“Silence never seemed so loud, violence never stood so proud, a minute lasts an hour and a day”
A ferocious, blistering burst of intent that comes in at less than two minutes, ‘Heads Down’ is possibly the band’s finest moment to date and will be digitally available via all the usual major outlets.
Formed early last year, the TALMA line up of Henry Adams (Vocals), Jack Rennie (Guitars, Vocals), James Creed (Guitars, Keys, Vocals), Pete Warren (Bass) and Jonathan Harrison (Drums, Vocals) were brought together through a mutual love of Wolf Alice, Bon Iver, Slow Show, Future Islands and Mogwai. They’ve spent the last twelve months playing to an ever increasing and enthusiastic fan base at shows in and around London and the South Coast.
Inspired by the sounds of The Smiths, Bowie, Arcade Fire and Radiohead, the afore mentioned debut EP was released late last year and included the lead singles ‘All Roads’ and ‘Cave’ and brought them more deserved attention from critics and public alike.
Currently in the studio putting the finishing touches to a new EP, TALMA will play a special single launch show in London at The Hope and Anchor in Islington on Friday the 2nd of June, more dates will be announced in the very near future.
