After fierce competition and careful deliberation over the last several weeks, The Shins have chosen Michigan-based trio Mertle as the lucky winners of their first-ever van! Mertle’s cover of “Painting A Hole” beat out hundreds of submissions to win the grand prize. Watch their excitement as James Mercer pays them a surprise visit at their home in Eaton Rapids, Michigan to personally deliver the newly refurbished 1990 Ford 350 Clubwagon HERE

Mertle will join The Shins for a very special performance at their July 27 concert at Grand Rapid’s Meijer Gardens Amphitheater.

The Shins are currently on tour through the fall, with dates across North America and Europe in addition to festival stops at Bunbury, Firefly, Lollapalooza, Osheaga and many more. See below for full tour schedule.
