Ahead of the release of her anarchic sophomore album I’m Not Your Man, due out 2^nd June on AMF Records (Loyle Carner) and Sub Pop in the US, Marika Hackman unveils a new album track Cigarette. [Listen here]

I’m Not Your Man is not afraid to call out the big questions around femininity, sexual identity, millennial ennui, the pressures of living in a social media bubble and the perils of being young in a fast-paced world.

Having flexed her lyrical dexterity and punk musicianship on BBC 6 Music playlisted singles, Boyfriend and My Lover Cindy, one could be forgiven for not seeing curveball new track Cigarette coming. But Cigarette demonstrates brilliantly that a tender fragility still touches Marika’s music, who gained notoriety for her delicate and coolly unnerving 2015 debut We Slept At Last.

Marika has recently announced a co-headline US tour with best pals The Big Moon as well as UK dates with her newly formed live band, whose ebullient debut performance at The Great Escape was undoubtedly a festival highlight.
