Welles have unveiled their debut music video for “Life Like Mine.” It’s a vivid, visual introduction to a band from which early supporters predict a piercing impact on modern rock. Paste premiered the video, calling it an “ethereal delight” and noting front-man Jehsea Wells’ “inimitable voice that can’t be taught or acquired over time.” Welles will begin their summer tour in New York City on June 2 at the Knitting Factory and on June 3 at Governors Ball. All dates listed below.
Welles released their debut EPCodeinelast month via C3 Records. The band is fronted by Jehsea Wells, a prolific songwriter, virtuoso guitarist and monstrous vocalist who recently relocated from Ozark, Akansas to Nashville. Early enthusiasts are comparing the 23-year-old’s distinguished growl and striking lyricism to rock legends, while he readily self-describes the sound as “burnt toast.”
