Luke Faas Drops Soul-Tinged New Single + Debut EP Out 6/16

On his debut Apathy EP, out June 16th on Easy Records, 23-year-old Norwegian singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Luke Faas doesn’t shy away from complicated themes. Drawing influence from classic soul and R&B, the seven-track collection fuses modern electronics with the experimental touches of producer Nicolay Tangen Svennæs (Bernhoft, Emilie Nicolas) and sees Faas navigating through an array of personal hardships.

Today, Luke Faas shares new single Why Bother with NYLON in anticipation of release. Highlighted by radiating synths and his bright falsetto, Faas comments: “Why Bother is a song about cutting ties to the people around you who drain your energy without ever giving back. You know, the kind of people who call favors, waste your time and drag you down. I had so much frustration in me while writing the song, but I wanted to balance that with the relief I felt when I broke out of a ‘friendship’ like that.”

“Why Bother” follows the release of Fass’ debut single “Should’ve Seen It” in February which quickly amassed over 200,000 streams and was put into regular rotation on Norway’s most influential radio channel, NRK P3. The shimmering, soul-tinged Apathy EP is poised to see him emerge as one of 2017’s artists to watch. Be sure to keep your eyes on Luke Faas as he prepares for release on June 16th.
