Can you talk to us more about your latest single “Don’t Take My Love Away”?
It’s a song that was kind of the turning point in ending my first relationship. I was trying to hold on something that didn’t exist anymore.
Did any event in particular inspire you to write this song?
The song “Don’t take my love away” is a song I wrote when my ex found and interest in someone else after we broke up. It was an on and off relationship so I was hoping that we’d get back together but that never happened. Lmao sad origins but the song’s cool so it’s all good.
Any plans to release a video for the single?
I’m talking to my man Dale Stelly about a date to start shooting. But I can’t say for certain when it’ll be shot/released
The single comes off your new album Bedhead Part 1 – what’s the story behind the title?
It’s basically like I’ve said just me trying to hold onto something that I’ve lost.
How was the recording and writing process?
The recording and writing process was easy, honestly producing the song is what took time. It wasn’t sounding full to me and because of that I had trouble with the finished product and mixing the songs without them sounding empty.
Is this in some way a conceptual record?
Definitely is a conceptual record. This is something that happened in my life, but almost in a 3rd person, first person view.
Would the next second part follow the same themes as this one?
The second part is the after story in a sense. It’s me getting over my ex, though it starts out reminiscing.
What emotions did you get to explore on this record?
Through this record, I’ve learned some personal fears of mine. I’ve learned how to deal with different people. I’ve learned how to love more selflessly.
Any plans to hit the road?
I’m planning on doing a radio station tour in the States this summer and I’m looking forward to it! Stay tuned by keeping in touch with me on social media outlets! Facebook: omarmusicx Twitter and Instagram: @wewantomar
What else is happening next in Omar Alhindi’s world?
Plans to hit the road, working with different producers, and different artists. Major labels are talking to me at the moment, and finishing up with school. Looking forward to a lot of life and love.
