“The record didn’t really take shape until I came up with ‘Don’t Give Up On Me’ one afternoon, sitting at my living room table.” Dunne recalled. “It seemed to sum up my mission statement for the whole record. It’s about the devotion to maintaining your idealism as the world makes you more cynical. It’s about putting your chips back on the table after you’ve suffered a big loss. And if you have to lose again, lose in a big way. I love that idea.”
He added this on the LP as a whole: “Bug Fixes & Performance Improvements is a record born out of the madness and mania of being alive. The title sort of sums the whole thing up; we’re all just working on it one day at a time, two steps forward- one step back- rinse and repeat. Plus, I think it’s kinda funny.”
Brian is enjoying a busy 2017, including recent performances on Cayamo (Emmylou Harris, Steve Earle, Brandi Carlile), NPR’s Mountain Stage, and tour dates with Delbert McClinton, Liz Longley, Constantine Maroulis and Ryan Montbleau. Last year Dunne supported entire tours for Will Hoge and Liz Longley, and performed at Off The Record Music Festival and Down The Hatch.
