On June 9, JUNO award nominee Kristina Maria, releases her highly anticipated new single “Gone In A Minute” via iTunes and Spotify. Written by Kristian Lundin (One Direction, Backstreet Boys, NSYNC and Celine Dion) and Kristina and produced by Lundin, “Gone In A Minute” showcases Kristina’s dynamic vocal range and represents her reemergence into the pop world after taking time away to quietly redefine her craft. Borrowing elements from hip-hop to R&B tempos, Kristina is reinventing her sound in the pop music genre.
“I am so excited to finally share my new single, “Gone In A Minute”, with everyone! It’s a song that’s really close to my heart because the inspiration came from watching one of my best friends struggle with being trapped in a box by her surroundings and finally deciding to drop everything and free herself. Her actions were so courageous they became the motivation to the contagious energy of this song,” said Kristina. “When Kristian Lundin and I were writing it we found the music and lyrics just flowed right out of us. The sound is so infectious you can’t help but dance when you first hear it! “Gone In A Minute” is actually a serious message that I want to deliver with a smile.”
With an up-beat, enchanting entrance, the opening lyrics “you’re dreaming but the minute you wake up it’s the same damn thing,” begins the story of how you must live life to the fullest before it’s gone. Perfectly paired with a chorus of “life’s too short, so you gotta make it count, yeah you gotta make it count, it will be gone in a minute,” it is poised to become a summer pop anthem.
Kristina has also performed across the globe, including performing a rendition of “The Power of Love” in front of Celine Dion and a live audience in Paris, France. She performed to over 200,000 spectators alongside French-singer Corneille in Agadir, Morocco at the Concert for Tolerance, an international effort to promote open-mindedness.
