From Monday 8th May, Ace kicks off a week of exclusive programming on BBC Radio 1Xtra for ACE WEEK. Set to be a special moment in the career of the long-term & highly respected radio broadcaster, all eyes and ears will be on his 10am-1pm slot as he welcomes an array of the biggest names from the worlds of Grime, Hip Hop and Wrestling who will feature in five days packed with exclusive interviews, mixes and esteemed Live Lounges.
Kicking off on Monday, Ace welcomes the biggest Afrobeats name in the world, Wizkid, as they sit down for an exclusive interview. Tuesday takes it to the ring as WWE’s Professional Wrestling Tag Team Alpha America joins him in the studio. The first of two hugely anticipated Live Lounges will broadcast on Wednesday as Ace presents Grime legend Lethal Bizzle, who is rumoured to be bringing along some special guests, whilst Thursday 11th May has the world’s No.1 Hip Hop group Migos in store, talking ad libs, collaboration, Justin Bieber and their Top 5 Hip Hop groups. Closing the week with the second Live Lounge, Ace has J Hus in session as the build up to the release of his debut album ‘Common Sense’ reaches boiling point. Can he do a Stormzy and hit that number 1 spot; Ace will ask everything we need to know.
Highlighting his prominence in the UK music scene as a tastemaker, supporter and innovative broadcaster, next week adds to his legacy that spans over a decade, which includes delivery of shows from the inception of BBC Radio 1Xtra, the Illout Show on seminal station Channel U through to MTV Base and beyond.
