She lyrically expresses a newfound perspective of how she can be herself without worrying about other’s opinions. “I think the best part of ‘Sun’ for me was that it didn’t take much thinking to write. That rarely happens to me anymore, where I can just churn out a tune without fiddling on the piano for a while before anything comes to me. This one just fell out,” Julia says on describing the writing process. She adds, “I was listening to the band ‘Bread’ and had the weirdest emotional episode of being so grateful for music. I immediately ran to my piano and wrote ‘Sun’ in a half hour.” The visuals for “Sun” consists of Julia welcoming the viewer to explore her positive environment of self appreciation and joy.
