ALLIE X Premieres New Song “Paper Love” + New Album COLLXTION II Available for Pre-Order

Ahead of the release of her highly anticipated debut full-length album COLLXTION II (out June 9 via Twin Music), Allie X premiered her newest single “Paper Love” via Noisey. The track illustrates the “kind of love that is too fragile and violent to work but still feels smooth and sexy and sharp and you can’t help going forward with it.”  The lush instrumentation and glittering synths wrapped around a rhythmic bassline and riffs reflect this idea sonically. COLLXTION II is available for pre-order beginning today and when fans pre-order the album they will receive an instant download of “Paper Love.” CLICK HERE to pre-order and CLICK HERE to post the track.

COLLXTION II explores identity, fragility and imperfection with a stripped back, minimal dark pop sound with a DIY edge encompassing delicate instrumentation, glossy pop and even slinky dancehall-inspired beats. The album continues to delve into the world of X and follows Allie X as her enigmatic persona is unveiled further through her lyrics, visuals and live performance. Allie X relocated to her hometown of Toronto, Canada to write much of the album, taking a break from her new home of LA to return to a simpler, though no less powerfully nuanced, style.

When discussing the inspiration behind the album, Allie X says, “This album is about the loss and reclamation of one’s identity. It’s about how much of who I am is ‘pure’ for lack of a better word, and how much is informed by experience. I don’t know how to put myself back together, but I do know that with this idea of X, the unknown, the possibility of anything, you can almost fill in these empty spaces in yourself. It’s about taking back what you lost along the way.”
