Hi Sid, welcome to VENTS! How have you been?

Hey guys! I’ve been great 🙂

Can you talk to us more about your latest single “Mandelbug”?

It was premiered by Your EDM and DJ Mag Italia, so glad and excited for this! It is a collaboration with the italian producer Grax, is experimental and may remind Rezz and Gesaffelstein music. It mixes a dark cinematic breakdown with a strong lo-fi drop.

Did any event in particular inspired you to write this song?

Absolutely! The track comes out on the occasion of the ‘World Intellectual Property Day’, that has as its main objective the encouragement of creative activity.

Any plans to release a video for the single?

It would be very cool, but we are still thinking about it, let’s see how it goes.

How was the recording and writing process?

Well, it was totally fun and crazy because I had the idea of that lo-fi drop for months but I didn’t know how to continue it; Grax came out of nowhere with a draft of that breakdown and I was totally in love so we decided to continue it together.

What was it like to work with Grax and how did that relationship develop?

It was nice, he’s a good guy and you definitely have to check his ‘Crank It Up’ bootleg!

How much did he influence the song?

As I said before, he worked on the breakdown part and I liked how it was.

Does the new single mean we can expect a new material – how’s that coming along?

I worked on a remix with PELUSSJE, totally in love with its strong bass. I also have a new unreleased collaboration with my friend Sam Lamar, I play it every morning haha!

Any tentative release date or title in mind?

Sam and I are trying to release it soon, but we are also looking for a label so I really don’t know when this will be out.

What else is happening next in I am Sid’s world?

I don’t really know yet, and I’d like to not reveal so much… you know, some people just like to talk, talk and talk, I prefer to work and concentrate on my music instead.
