MATING RITUAL Premieres New Track “Drunk”

LA’s Mating Ritual have unveiled another new track from their highly-anticipated debut album today – CLICK HERE to listen to “Drunk” via Consequence of Sound. The band has taken an unconventional approach to the traditional album release for their debut How You Gonna Stop It?, unveiling the album as two volumes, the first in January, and now the full collection on June 9, 2017.

How You Gonna Stop It? is about transition. The transition from child to adult; from dependent to independent; from unemployed to employed; from committed to single. After having two different bands that were signed to major labels, Ryan was frustrated with the process and was inspired to carve out his own path with Mating Ritual, ultimately creating his own label Smooth Jaws to release the music.

Mating Ritual is also thrilled to announce an artist-curated benefit, No Matter What, on June 24 at The Hi Hat in LA to celebrate the release of How You Gonna Stop It?. The event will consist of performances by a group of LA-based musicians and benefit the Planned Parenthood location in their community. On organizing this event, Ryan shared “There’s a lot of crazy stuff happening in this world and groups like Planned Parenthood are in jeopardy of losing their ability to help millions of people. Some friends and I have dreamt about doing something like this for a while and the time was finally right. What started as an album release show turned into something that matters so much more. We’ve gathered a great group artists who are donating their time to help the people of the city we all love. We’re on track to raise thousands of dollars for this cause.”

The event is presented by Vinyl Moon/Burning Ear and Smooth Jaws, and lineup includes performances by Mating Ritual, Beginners, DYAN, La Bouquet, Oddnesse, Inspired and the Sleep, The Openers, and DJ sets from Sir Sly, DJ L0L0 (From Pr0files) and Bad Wave. PRESS HERE for more information.
