London-based artist Aniya continues her impressive introduction with the release of the video for her debut single ‘Demon’ – an ethereal noir-pop gem, harking back to the early sounds of Banks and Lana Del Rey. WATCH HERE
Premiering on Wonderland, the highly emotive video features Aniya in a physical battle with her demon, portraying the song’s powerful, honest lyrical message and feelings of delicacy, vulnerability and empowerment.
She says of the video; “I wanted to show the constant battle people face when having these self-doubting and destructive thoughts, and the impact it can have on someone. You can’t numb the demon, but you can learn how to harness it and turn it into your strongest asset”
The track was written and co-produced by Aniya with finishing touches from Engine Earz (Jorja Smith) and additional track work from Tony Cousins (Adele, Massive Attack & Annie Lennox).
As ‘Demon’ continues to set the blogosphere alight, Aniya is primed and ready to make a sizeable noise in 2017. Expect plenty more exciting tracks to come.
