Andrew Bird adds tour dates with Esperanza Spalding; also performing w/ Belle & Sebastian, The Lumineers, Spoon this summer

Critically acclaimed singer/songwriter Andrew Bird is set to tour extensively this summer. He is currently capping off an Australian tour that included shows at the world-renowned Byron Bay Bluesfest and Sydney Opera House with a show at the Melbourne Recital Hall. In July Bird kicks off a run of dates with bassist Esperanza Spalding that features his debut at Chicago’s Ravinia Festival, after which he heads out for a co-headlining east coast tour with Belle & Sebastian before joining The Lumineers for their hometown shows at Denver’s Fiddler’s Green on August 25, 26 and 27. Bird will also appear at the High Sierra Festival and the Arroyo Secco Music & Arts Festival in California this summer. See below for a complete list of dates.

Bird’s twelfth full-length LP, Are You Serious (out now on Loma Vista Recordings), continues to garner critical acclaim; see below for recent press.

Bird recently welcomed Dawes to his Facebook Live series “Live from the Great Room.” The series streams live from Bird’s living room, putting the creative process on display for fans as he performs and converses with friends and collaborators in a candid, intimate setting. Paper hails the series as “compelling as fuck” and “delightful,” while Nerdist praises the “always beautifully done live concerts.” Previous guests include Fiona Apple, Matt Berninger of The National, Jim James of My Morning Jacket, Lucius, Esperanza Spalding, Jackson Browne, Dan Wilson, Jimbo Mathus of the Squirrel Nut Zippers, Chris Thile, Blake Mills, John C. Reilly and Tom Brosseau.
