Singer/songwriter Travis Marsh has partnered up with Indaba Music on a remix contest built around his current single “Lay Me Down.” The contest (sponsored by Dragonfly Entertainment) is asking fans and DJ’s to create a compelling remix of the new single that features Chicago rapper G Herbo. The winner (chosen by Marsh) will win $500, an official release of their mix on Spotify and iTunes, an Indaba Pro membership, a signed shirt from the “Lay Me Down” video shoot from G Herbo and Travis, and two producer mentorship calls from “Lay Me Down” producer Smitty Soul (Gaga, Nicki Minaj, Chris Brown, Justin Timberlake.)
The video for “Lay Me Down,” directed by Mamady Condé premiered on Vevo recently and features artist / model Asphyxia Noir and G Herbo.
Travis had this to say about the underlying message of “Lay Me Down” and his collaboration with G Herbo: “I had a great time writing music and coming together on this track with Herb to help bring awareness to some of the social injustices we face today from LA to the Windy City.”
2017 has seen Travis Marsh get off to a hot start, with captivating performances in LA at celebrated venues like The Hotel Cafe, Silverlake Lounge, and The Mint. Travis also performed at several showcases at this year’s SXSW, including the Chive TV takeover at the Westin.
Travis Marsh is a native Los Angeles based singer / songwriter, multi instrumentalist, and producer who refuses to personify one identifiable musical identity. The eclectic musical world of Travis Marsh is a creative space saturated with different ideas, sounds, and concepts, all grounded in the musical history and landscape of Southern California. Equal parts Folk, Rock, Pop, and Hip Hop, Travis has long fought against being tied to one specific genre. Travis’ newest single is the infectious “Lay Me Down,” produced by Smitty Soul (who has worked with Chris Brown, Lady Gaga, Nicki Minaj, and Justin Timberlake) and featuring Chicago rapper, G Herbo. It is the single that showcases perfectly Travis’ ability to avoid genre tags and create a soundscape all his own.
