English-Italian sibling trio ‘Miccoli’ (pronounce ‘me-co-lee’) have announced the release of newest single ‘Lights’ video, which is set to be released on 5th May 2017. The release is taken from their forthcoming EP ‘1/2’ which is set to be released on 12th May ahead of a US/UK tour.
Dubbed as “Ones to watch” by BBC Radio 6’s Tom Robinson, Miccoli is made up of twin brothers, Adriano (vocal and acoustic/electric guitar) and Alessandro (piano, vocal and acoustic guitar) and their younger sister Francesca (vocal, piano and harmonica) who formed a few years after the twins studies at the London School of Music. The trio are known for their haunting yet endearing harmonies, melodic catchy tracks and definitive sound that developed through years of fine tuning.
The band cite that, ‘Over the years we’ve fine-tuned our creative process – because inspiration can strike at any time – you don’t really dictate the process – instead it guides you – we make mental notes, record it on phones, scribble on pieces of tissue or whatever – sometimes do nothing; as Paul McCartney said “If you can’t remember it in the morning, it couldn’t have been all that good”. Then when the feeling is right we either sit down together or take some time to ourselves, reflect and see what flows – piecing together all the notes left behind.’
‘Lights’ will be the second release from the forthcoming EP which was recorded and self – produced over the past year at Clarion Studios off the coast of Malaysia. Music was always a large part of the trios life growing up and their inspiration stems from their parents record collection of Fleetwood Mac, Simon and Garfunkel, The Police and classic Motown hits to name a few.
No strangers to touring, Miccoli have recently toured extensively throughout Europe and America and after a year of recording, the band are set for a US/UK tour this summer promoting thier debut EP. Kicking off their tour at Sound City Music Festival Liverpool 28th May.
